Part-time Job Opportunity in the Children's Room

The Town of Dracut seeks qualified applicants to serve as a part-time Library Assistant in the Children’s Room. The position is 18 hours per week and is covered under the SEIU Union contract for salary purposes only.

Salary is $15.16 per hour. The Town of Dracut requires a physical exam, drug screen, and CORI check post-offer. Friends of the Library Book Sale -  It's the Big One!

Thursday May 11, 5:00-8:00 PM - Preview night - Get a sneak peek at the gently used books for sale at the Friends of the Library spring book sale!

Please consider a $5 donation for entrance into this early look.

Friday & Saturday May 12 & 13, 9:00-4:00 PM - Please visit the Friends of the Library gently used book sale in the meeting room! There will be a variety of books for sale, including beach reads, children's books, movies, and more.

Important Dates

Meeting of the Board of Library Trustees - Wednesday, May 10, at 4:00 pm in the Director's Office on the 2nd floor. Open Meeting

Summer Hours - Beginning Saturday May 27, the Library will be closed on Saturdays through Labor Day.

Memorial Day  - Monday, May 29. The Library will be CLOSED.

Dracut Library Knitters

Thursdays at 2:00-4:00pm

We meet in the Fireplace Room.

We're not just knitters! Join us whether you knit, crochet, or do another form of needlework.  All skill levels welcome. No need to register. Drop-ins

Adult Take Home Craft: Button Bouquet

Create this beautiful button bouquet for your spring decor! Colors will vary.

You will need glue, wire cutters and needle nose pliers. Instructions are included in your kit. Your craft kit will be available for pick up when you receive the second email stating "Registration is confirmed for Adult Craft Kit."

Registration opens 5/1/2023. Registration is limited to one per household.

Fiction book group - virtual and in person

Monday, May 1, 6:30—7:30 PM

Join us for a new fiction book group with the option to meet in person or over Zoom!

At this meeting, we'll discuss the book Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese. This book is a "vivid reimagining of the woman who inspired Hester Prynne, the tragic heroine of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, and a journey into the enduring legacy of New England's witchcraft trials." Copies of the book will be available at the main desk in the library.

No registration required if attending in person, but please register if you need the Zoom link.

Gentle Flow Yoga

Tuesday, May 2, 6:30—7:30 PM

This is a gentle flow practice. No experience or flexibility required.

Participants must be able to move from the floor to standing independently.

Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and small towel to each class.

It is always advisable to consult with your physician before embarking on an exercise program. Please consult your physician to determine if it is appropriate for you to participate in this particular program. You will be asked to sign a disclosure and release form before starting your yoga practice.

Space is limited so registration is required.
