Suicide is a serious public health problem that can have lasting harmful effects on individuals, families, and communities. There are many factors that contribute to suicide. The goal of suicide prevention is to reduce factors that increase risk and increase factors that promote resilience. Here are a few resources to help you or a loved one:

- Connect to a Crisis Hotline:

- National Suicide Prevention Line: 1-800-273-8255 (1-888-628-9454 for Spanish)

- 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline; Free and confidential emotional support line available 24/7. Call or text 988 (Veterans: Press 1, Spanish Line: Press 2)

- The Trevor Project; Free, confidential and secure 24/7 service for LGBTQ young people. Call 1-866-488-7386 ot text 678-678

- Trans Lifeline; Free 24/7 trans peer support, run by and for trans people. Call 1-877-565-8860

- Mass "2-1-1"; Free, confidential, and multilingual help 24/7. Call 1-800-662-4357
