On January 25th, 2023, Mayor Sean Reardon will give the State of the City Address, which will include updates on the City’s accomplishments throughout 2022, and its priorities for the year ahead. The event is open to the public and will be at 7pm in the City Hall Auditorium at 60 Pleasant Street. Council President Heather Shand and State Senator Bruce Tarr will also offer remarks, and City Clerk Richard Jones will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The event will also be broadcast on NCM Hub and YouTube.
At the conclusion of the address, Mayor Reardon will present awards recognizing Newburyport community members for their public and community service. The Onward, Forward! Public Service Award will honor a city employee, board or commission volunteer, or elected official who has gone above and beyond in their service to the city. In addition, three community service awards will recognize individuals, businesses, and youth who have made significant positive contributions to Newburyport.
