City Of Newburyport- Snow Angel Volunteers Still Needed

Calling All Snow Angels!

As the cold weather approaches, the City is receiving many requests for Snow Angel help. Newburyport Youth Services and the Newburyport Council on Aging are once again reaching out to the community to facilitate neighbors helping neighbors with the Snow Angels Program. Snow Angels is a voluntary snow removal service for senior citizens and persons with physical disabilities.  The program’s goal is to bring together residents who want to keep their sidewalks clear, but are physically unable to do so, with volunteers who want to help out their community.  The program will run from December 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023.

Sign up as a Snow Angel and you will be connected with a neighbor requiring assistance. Volunteers are asked to help one resident for the full winter season and to shovel anytime there is a half inch or more of snow. Local ordinances require that sidewalks be cleared within 48 hours after a storm. Like last winter, we are keeping the program as simple as possible this winter and only asking our volunteers to clear the sidewalk in front of the house and access to the main door of the home, no driveways or cars. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the link below.
