FEDERAL GRANTS

National Endowment for the Humanities, 10/18/2023
The program supports activities including but not limited to curricular or program development, expert consultations, speakers’ series, student research, creation of teaching resources, and community engagement. Projects may benefit students, faculty, the institution or organization, and/or the community. Average award: $60,000.00

The National Park Service, 10/10/2023
Grants will fund a broad range of planning, development, and research projects for historic sites including survey, inventory, documentation, interpretation, education, architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and "bricks and mortar" repair. This competitive grant program provides grants to states, tribes, local governments (including Certified Local Governments), and nonprofits.

SYSTEM FOR AWARDS MANAGEMENT UPDATE:

The federal government has transitioned from DUNS to the Unique Entity ID.
A UEI is required to apply for and receive federal awards.
The process is extensive; plan ahead.

STATE GRANTS

MassTrails Grant Program, 2/1/2024 (Application opens November 2023)
MassTrails provides matching grants to communities, public entities, and non-profit organizations to plan, design, create, and maintain the diverse network of trails, trail systems, and trail experiences used and enjoyed by Massachusetts residents and visitors. The award maximum depends on the project type and needs and is generally $60,000 for “local” projects and up to $500,000 for projects demonstrating critical network connections of regional or statewide significance.

CITY OF BOSTON GRANTS

Foster Youth to Independence, 8/24/2023
The City of Boston, through the Mayor's Office of Housing, is seeking proposals from qualified non-profit agencies and units of local government to provide housing navigation and supportive services to young adults ages 18-24.

Small Grants Trust Program, 10/6/2023
The Small Grants program will accept applications in four program areas. Charitable and humane purposes (providing humanitarian aid or services), Special or new recreation for Bostonians, Recreational (play or sports) areas for children, and to adorn and embellish (or beautify and enhance) Boston's streets and public spaces. Grants awarded up to $2,000.00. Applications open on August 28th.

Bids are updated continuously on the City of Boston Supplier Portal.

FOUNDATION GRANTS

Champions in Action Program, 8/18/2023
Citizens and NECN accepting applications for a $50K grant in promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency.

National Trust for Historic Preservation, 8/23/2023
The purpose is to strengthen the capacity of historic congregations, preservation organizations, and community groups to better steward, manage, and use their historic structures. Maximum Grant Amount: $200,000.

CareQuest Institute For Oral Health, 8/31/2023
CareQuest Institute will fund projects and partner with organizations that are working to address systemic barriers to oral health  including access to oral health for people with disabilities. CareQuest Institute will fund 10 projects for up to $125,000 each.

Cabot Family Charitable Trust, 9/1/2023
Grants are given primarily in Boston and contiguous communities. Funding is awarded for arts and culture, education and youth development, environment and conservation, health, and human services, and for civic and public benefit. Average award: $5,000.00 - $50,000.00.

Simply Organic, 9/12/2023
The Simply Organic Giving Fund will focus on nourishing the millions of food insecure by supporting organizations that are providing people access to healthy, organic food options. Maximum grant amount: $50,000.

Jewish Helping Hands, (LOI) 9/13/2023                                                                                                           

The 2023/2024 grant cycle focuses on projects providing the basic necessities for a decent life, including women’s empowerment, education, food, clothing, water, health, internet connectivity, and gender equity.

The National Youth Leadership Council, 9/13/2023
Support is available for youth service projects. Grants up to $1,000.00.

Les Paul Foundation, 9/15/2023
Grants will be awarded to support programs and projects that encourage innovation in music production and/or performance and to innovative STEM or STEAM programs for students and others in challenging situations.

John Z. Duling Grant Program, (LOI) 9/15/2023
Grants of up to $25,000, up to three years will be awarded as start-up or seed funding to support innovative research and technology transfer projects that have the potential to benefit the everyday work of arborists.

Bellwether, 9/21/2023 (Phase 1)                                                                                                    

Grants of up to $100,000 will be awarded to organizations designing or developing new solutions to help families access flexible and personalized learning options.

Clif Bar Family Foundation, 10/1/2023
The foundation focuses giving on strengthening the food system, enhancing equitable community health outcomes, and safeguarding the environment and natural resources. Awards up to $10,000.00.

Nord Family Foundation, 12/1/2023
Grants are awarded in the fields of Arts and Culture, Civic Affairs, Education, and Health and Social Services. Educational support has been granted to public schools, charter schools, and faith-based schools. Most grants are made for program-related activities, with some grants to support capital improvements and capital campaigns when special criteria are met. The average award is 25,000 to 100,000.
