Brooks Free Library Newsletter - September 2022

Where did summer go?

Well they say time flies when you're having fun and the staff here at the library agree that this summer was tons of fun! We were so excited to welcome back many of the performers and programs that went on hiatus during the pandemic. This year we enjoyed animal programs, magic shows, storytellers, craft programs, and so much more. Boy did it feel good to welcome them back and to give our library guests a full slate of fun activities to enjoy!

Speaking of welcoming people back, according to our handy-dandy door counters we had over 17,000 visitors walk through our doors during the months of July and August. During that same time period, we checked out over 22,000 books, DVDs, games and other fun stuff. That doesn't include all of the museum passes we were able to provide library users.  A whopping 152 museum passes were reserved and used this summer.

All I can say is WOW! We were blown away! We're all a little tired but very, very excited about this truly successful summer. We're taking a day off for the holiday on Monday and then we'll be right back at it... planning a fun and fabulous fall to follow this splendid summer. Stay tuned!

We wish you all a very safe and happy holiday. Thanks for helping us make this summer so grand!

See you soon,

Assistant Director Emily
