On Dec. 31, droves of people will head to bars to celebrate the New Year. Which bars in the Bay State take celebrating to a higher level? From swanky lounges to casual pubs, the following 10 bars will give you a night to remember. And Happy New Year!
General admission tickets to Down Nightclub on New Year’s Eve are $50. These includes complementary coat check, guaranteed admission before 11 p.m., a champagne toast and party favors. Exclusive tables may be purchased for $100 per person, and include bottles of booze. These are limited. DJ Greg Pic will keep the party hopping all night long. From 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, the Crown in Lowell is the place to be. Semi-formal attire is required, and VIP tables are available. Live music will ring in the new year.

Visit the Beehive on New Year’s Eve for a fun-filled event. In the tradition of a Speakeasy, there will be “hooch, chow, live music and forbidden fun.” There will be a prix fixe dinner served between 9 and 11 p.m. in the restaurant, after which the festivities adjourn to the bar to drink the last of 2017 away and ring in the New Year.
Fast Times is providing live New Year’s Eve music at the Stonewood Tavern. Tickets are $25 per person and include passed hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Buy a ticket to Dillon’s New Year’s Eve event and celebrate with just 300 people. Flyy Home will be spinning the music and there will be a champagne toast at midnight included in the ticket price. Tickets guarantee entry until 11:15 p.m. After that, the countdown is on, so be sure to get there earlier than that. Tickets are $35.

An older crowd—or those younger folks who love jazz—will want to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Epicure Wine Bar. A $25 ticket includes hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast. Live music will be provided by Dan Pappas and the NB Quartet.

Located at Patriot Place, Scorpion Bar is planning a very swanky New Year’s Eve party for its patrons. A package for eight includes VIP entrance, a bottle of Grey Goose and a bottle of Bel Air—for $500. For $200, four people get the VIP entrance and a bottle of Veuve. Reserved seating is guaranteed with one of these packages. DJ Diskino will provide music for the event. Doors open at 9 p.m.
The Pop Disaster will perform for New Year’s Eve at the Landsdowne. A champagne toast and a balloon drop will take place at midnight. Tickets must be purchased in advance, but there will be no physical tickets. Names of “ticket holders” will be entered onto a guest list. Only those on the list will be allowed inside beginning at 8 p.m.
Ring in 2018 at The Well. Dancing, drinks and food will start at 8 p.m., and run through 1 a.m. Dance the night away with live music by the Rip-It-Ups. Contact the Well for information about tickets.
