Matondi Square

John was a US Navy, Vietnam Veteran, an active Medway Post 1526 VFW member, and served as its Quartermaster for several years. Most recently he served as the Massachusetts VFW Quartermaster

He was quite active in his community, especially with the BOY Scouts, serving actively with the Old Colony Council of Boy Scouts of America headquartered in Stoughton, MA.

John had been a member of the Medway Memorial Committee since its inception many years ago.

The Memorial Day parade will depart from the Medway VFW at 10:00 a.m. and proceed to Matondi Square for ceremonies honoring John and the men and women who so valiantly gave the ultimate in service to our nation.

Again, this year our parade will consist of the Worcester Kiltie Band and the Medway High School band, along with a color guard from the Police Department, Fire Department, and VFW.

Also, community organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Lions Club, etc., are invited to march in the parade.

Mustering will occur at the VFW, with all participants asked to be organized and ready to step off at 9:45 a.m.

Service members are encouraged to participate in the parade, where a float and vehicles will be provided for those who do not wish to march.

Please note, the throwing of candy is not allowed.
