Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) has extended the exhibition, Edward and Josephine Hopper from the Permanent Collection, from January 28 to April 1, 2018 and added new material. The cases will be replaced with new examples from Josephine Hopper’s diary entries, letters to Edward Hopper from artists Charles Burchfield and John Sloan and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and ephemera from the artists' lives.
"Due to the overwhelming interest by scholars, critics and visitors, PAAM will be extending the Hopper exhibition through April 1st. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see this exhibition, plan an off season trip to Provincetown!" -Christine McCarthy, PAAM Executive Director.
The exhibition, which opened in August 2017, is comprised of works donated to the museum's Permanent Collection by Laurence C. and J. Anton Schiffenhaus in honor of their mother Mary Schiffenhaus (a close and personal friend of Josephine and Edward Hopper), and two anonymous donors.
