Exhibition - Amanda Means: Folded, Refolded, Crushed and Cracked

Saturday, Sep 22, 2018 from 11:00am to 5:30pm

Howard Yezerski Gallery is pleased to announce Folded, Refolded, Crushed and Cracked, a solo exhibition featuring new works by Amanda Means. This is Means's sixth exhibition, (fifth solo exhibition) with HYG.

Means is widely known for her work capturing the grand intricacies of flowers in large-scale black and white photographs, exploring the intoxicating color shifts of illuminated light bulbs in 20 x 24 Polaroid prints, and rendering the subtle transitions between highlights and shadows in bubbling, sweaty glasses of water.  In this new body of work for which she received a 2017 Guggenheim Fellowship, she explores the intimate relationship between the handmade and the mechanical aspects of the photographic craft.
