Shelpacks are a fun way to keep learning and playing at home fresh! Take home a new pack of toys, instruments, puzzles, books & more every week of the year with 50+ options to explore.

Our new bags designed by the Girl Scouts include lessons surrounding the books ChrysanthemumBeautiful OopsThe Kissing Hand, and The Crayon's Book of Feelings.

Many of the bags are stored outside of the Children's Library, so don't hesitate to browse the catalog or ask if you are looking for something specific!

How To Ace The Sat: Tips and Tricks to Maximize Your Score.

In this free Zoom presentation, college consultant and SAT tutor Dave Wtorkowski of Big Green College Prep will present some of the best-proven tips, tricks, and strategies for improving your score on both the Math and Verbal sections. Topics include: When to guess on questions? How to pace yourself? What are the most effective ways to take practice tests? What kind of questions come up again and again? Is it better to take the SAT or ACT? Should you submit your scores to test-optional colleges? What's new for the digital SAT this spring? 30-minute presentation followed by Q&A.

Teen Dungeons & Dragons Club!

The Weston Public Library's D&D Club for Teens is a great way for youth to learn about the game and its amazing creative possibilities as they create characters, send them on fantastic adventures, and roll some dice along the way!

This series is intended for ages 10-17. Those interested should contact Ian at LibraryDirector@WestonCT.gov , to register for open slots, if any. Game on!

Team S.T.E.A.M.

Tuesday, November 14th, 4:00 - 4:45 PM. 1st - 4th grade. Registration Required.

Join us for another exciting afternoon with special guests from Team S.T.E.A.M.! This program gives young children the opportunity to explore and build interest in STEM (Science, technology, engineering and math) and ARTS. We will use engineering kits to introduce students to various engineering, problem-solving, and team-building skills.

Prepare for the New Digital SAT: with C2 Education.

Wednesday, November 15th, 6:30 PM. Community Room.

Join C2 Education of Westport to learn about the new Digital SAT and how you should plan to prepare. It will be digital, adaptive, and there will be several content changes. Students in the class of 2026 and younger should prepare.

Teen D.I.Y: Fall Candle Painting.

Teens. Community Room. Thursday, November 16th, 3:00 PM.

Stop by the community room to decorate your own candle (or set of candles!). We will have pillar and taper candles available to design with nontoxic acrylic paint. These make the perfect table setting for Friendsgiving or some really cool room decor. This D.I.Y. is beginner-friendly and will send you home with some awesome usable art to keep!

Playgroup.

Friday, November 17th @ 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ages birth-6 years old. Register or drop in.

Parents/Caregivers and children are invited to join us for open play in the community room. Meet new neighbors and friends and try out some of our early learning toys.

The Library will be CLOSED Friday, November 10th & 24th. More regularly scheduled playgroup sessions will return in December. 

Pokemon Club

Tuesday, November 21st @ 3:45 PM-4:45 PM.

Ages 5-12 (with parent in room if under the age of 8). Registration Required.

Monday, November 27th, @ 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the Community Room. Ages 5+.  Register or drop in.

Create a wonderfully unique Perler Bead creation. Projects must be completed by 4:45 in order to be ironed and taken home the same day.

The 4-Step Method to Getting into Your First Choice College.

Tuesday, November 28th, 6:30 PM. Community Room.

Dr. Donna Risolo of College Prep Tutors will present on “The 4-Step Method to Getting into Your First Choice College.”  Learn strategies that Dr. Donna has used with 100s of students to help them get into their first choice college, and many offered substantial scholarship awards regardless of parent income. You will leave this presentation with concrete action steps that you can immediately apply to your college admissions process.  Dr. Donna will also be available for Q&A after the presentation. This presentation is open to parents and students of all grade levels.

Food Explorers: Hot Chocolate Mousse Pies!

Wednesday, December 13th at 4PM. Community Room.

Join Food Explorers for a holiday cooking program! You’ll be making Hot Chocolate Mousse Pies. You’ll learn how to use the electric mixer to make a delicious hot chocolate mousse filling and homemade whipped cream, and assemble in your very own mini pie pan. Recipe is nut free but will contain dairy and gluten.
