Suicide Prevention Workshop for Teens with Samaritans

3:30 - 5:00 PM

Samaritans has provided suicide prevention services for fifty years in the greater Boston area through a 24/7 hotline, grief support and educational workshops. This workshop will discuss the risk factors and stressors that negatively impact mental health, help attendees to improve active listening skills to support peers who are struggling, educate on the importance of self-care and communal support systems, and address the need to find a trusted adult and how to do this. These trainings are developed in accordance with best practices based on formal research.

We need your help: Library mural project!

The Library is teaming up with local artists to create a mural on the theme of “see yourself in a story” and we want to get a glimpse of your story. Submit a photo of yourself reading—alone or with friends and family—or doing something amazing. The only requirement is that the photo must include people! Photos must be submitted by Friday, November 10th, 2023.
