Cooking with Anastasia: Baklava for Brain Health
Friday, July 21, 11:00 am - Noon, Zoom program

Continuing our focus on brain health, we learn how to make baklava, a healthy dessert for the whole body but especially the brain. Dr. Galanopoulos, a parenting and wellness coach, teaches people how to cook for gut, mental, and overall health.

Password Security and Scam Prevention
Monday, July 24, 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Join Lexington High School student Haynes Porter to learn about password security and scam prevention when using the internet and your personal devices.

Summer Shred Days with The Cotting School
Fridays July 21 and August 4, 10 am - Noon

Bring paper and documents you need to dispose of to the Lexington Community Center to be shredded. Please bring no more than 100 pages to be shredded. Register for your time slot by emailing krollins@lexingtonma.gov  or calling 781-698-4844.

Jazz in July with The Bloom Leighton Duo

Memory Café
Wednesday, August 9, 10:30 - 11:30 am

We know the importance of in-person connections, especially when a loved one has dementia. We hope that caregivers and their loved ones can socialize and share in some meaningful activities. Sponsored by Minute Women Home Care. This program is part of a growing nationwide movement to provide community-based support, stimulation and education for people and families living with cognitive decline. At each Café, individuals with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, along with their caregivers gather.

Wednesday, August 9, 9:00 am - Noon

Meet with Wai Chong, RPh to check your blood pressure, discuss medication management and learn how to properly use your blood glucose and blood pressure machines. Please bring your machines with you if you have questions. Shingles, pneumonia, and other vaccines will also be available. Call Wai Chong at 781-698-4847 to make your appointment or to discuss the possibility of a home visit if you are home-bound.

Nutrition Talk: Hiatal Hernia & Diet
Friday, August 18, 11:00 am - Noon

Come learn about this condition and how it can negatively affect your meal intake and potentially lead to unplanned weight loss. We will also talk about the best dietary interventions for the treatment of this condition.

Glitz & Glam Ballroom Dancing
Monday, August 28, 2:00 - 3:00 pm

The event will center around dancing and looking like your finest 1920's self, so be bold with your wardrobe. Join ballroom instructor Sierra for an afternoon of Gatsby-esque décor, period music and refreshments

Foliage Turkey Train Tour

Begin your day with a beautiful scenic drive up to Meredith, New Hampshire where we will board the Winnipesaukee Turkey Train at the Hobo Railroad. This two hour scenic train ride, through the countryside of New Hampshire is complete with a delicious full turkey dinner. This exceptional turkey meal is provided by Hart's Turkey Farm. Following the lunch train excursion we board the motor coach and head to Moulton Farm, in the heart of the Lakes Region.

Castle in the Clouds

We will begin our day with a stop at Castle in the Clouds, located in the heart of the Ossipee Mountains! This former country estate took many years, thousands of workmen, and millions of dollars to build. Situated on the highest hill in the vicinity, the castle itself commands a panoramic view. One can see for a radius of 75 miles! Next we head to a regional landmark, Hart?s Turkey Farm. Choose from Turkey Dinner, Roast Beef Dinner, or Broiled Haddock Dinner with all of the fixings. Before heading home, we will make a stop at Kellerhaus, NH?s oldest candy and ice cream makers.

Lexington's Older, Wiser, Lifelong Learners program is celebrating 10 years of class offerings to adults over 60, and we need a great new logo. Can you help?

Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to submit their ideas. There is no limit to the number of submissions, so feel free to submit more than one logo idea! The artist of the winning submission will receive a $25 Rancatore's gift card!

Submission guidelines: Email your logo idea (in a PNG or JPG file format) with your name, age, and phone number to owllcontest@gmail.com  by Sunday, August 20!
