Happy Native American Heritage Month!
In 1990, after decades of efforts from allies and advocates to increase awareness and education about Native people, National Native American Heritage Month was established. During Native American Heritage Month, we come together to honor the vibrant cultures and histories of the indigenous people of America while also recognizing the contributions they’ve made to our society as we know it, like syringes, cable suspension bridges, rubber, baby bottles, and raised-bed agriculture, etc.
Check out our displays throughout the Main Library for related recommended materials. You can also visit our Online Library, which is available 24/7, for ebooks, eaudiobooks, movies, television shows, music, and language-learning tools which feature collections honoring Native American Heritage Month!
