Programs for All Ages!

The Baby Goats are coming!
Drop by Gazebo Park anytime from 10-noon to pet the baby goats.

No registration is required and all ages are welcome.

If it rains this event will not take place.

4 p.m. Dance Class
Join Chefi - dancer, choreographer, and owner of Simba Dance Academy - for a fun and interactive African Dance and Storytelling session.Get ready to dance to a lively blend of beats alongside traditional, contemporary, and Urban movements.  Children and adults of all ages are invited to join in the fun! This program will be held outdoors in Gazebo Park.  Registration is NOT required.  In case of inclement weather, this program will not take place.

6 p.m. Storytelling
Chefiatou Tokou will tell us the story of Koyi and her Rusty Dusty Drum and we will discover how one courageous girl changed the story of an entire village! This story will be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages.

We're so excited for k9-frisbee world record holder, Mike Piazza, and his Flying High Dogs to come back to the library to perform for us on the green outside the library!

Join us for our second annual END OF SUMMER SOCIAL FOR ADULTS!

Have a glass of wine or juice, enjoy a yummy dessert, and compete in some Team Literary Trivia with all your bookish new friends! (Don't worry, you don't need to arrive with a team. We'll match you up!)

Embellish photos with simple embroidery stitches using brightly colored thread. No sewing skills needed!  Bring your own photos or use the ones provided.  (Black and White photos are extra funky with this process!)

These make great notecards, or put your finished creation in a frame.

CASUAL CREATIVITY: A PLAYDATE FOR ART-CURIOUS ADULTS!
Each month we'll do a new creative activity playing with things like collage, paper cutting, and non-traditional painting methods, and we'll occassionally dabble in 3D! No art or drawing skills are required to enjoy this low-key social gathering. All supplies are provided.

BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR AND MEET AT THE MEDFIELD STATE HOSPITAL GROUNDS. In case of inclement weather we will meet in the big meeting room, downstairs at the library.

You do NOT need to register or RSVP for this program but please email Bri at bozanne@minlib.net for specific location details and weather-related scheduling updates.

Making Friends as an adult can be hard, but we can help! Come to one (or all) of our social activity groups to FIND YOUR PEOPLE! Want to start a group based around your own favorite activity?

Programs for Tweens & Teens

MINI-PIES!:  WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2ND, 1:30PM - 3PM:

Join Food Explorers for a delicious cooking program!  You’ll make your own mini Lemon Pie and mini Key Lime Pie!  You’ll make your own crust, use the electric mixer to whip together a zingy and creamy filling, and get creative with your decoration. This program is nut free but may contain dairy and eggs.

Ages 10+.  Must register as space is limited.

PRIDE CRAFTS @ PARK ST. BOOKS!: 
THURSDAYS, AUGUST 3RD & AUGUST 24TH, 4PM - 5:30PM:


There are 2 more sessions of our Pride Crafts series at Park St. Books!  Join us outside in July to use our button-makers to make as many customized buttons as you want, and in August to paint a piece of pottery with any Pride flag colors!

CHESS CLUB:  EVERY TUESDAY, 3:30-5PM (NO MEETING ON 8/1)
This Club is for all levels of players ages 10 and up who want to learn how to play chess and/or improve their game.  Our Teen Volunteer can teach brand new players all the basics for playing chess, and players who already know the game can be matched to play against each other.  First to beat the Chess Master wins $25!

Join OUT MetroWest and the library for an evening filled with ice cream and karaoke to celebrate the end of summer!  Build your own sundaes and sing your best (or worst) songs!
WE'LL BE HANGING OUT IN THE TEEN SPACE!

STRING CLUB - EVERY OTHER FRIDAY, 4-6PM (JUST 8/18 FOR THIS MONTH):
Have a sewing/embroidery/knitting/crochet project that you started but can't finish?  Do you want to learn new techniques or teach others what you know?  Then drop in at the library every other Friday, and bring a project you're working on or start a new one with friends!  There's also snacks!  All skill levels welcome, no registration needed. Ages 13+.

YOUTH OUT LOUD:
Pride is all year round!  Check out Youth Out Loud's NEW official website for the latest LGBTQIA+ and Ally-Friendly Teen and All Ages events throughout the state!

Youth Out Loud is a collaborative project between LGBTQIA+ organizations, community members, public libraries, and youth from across Massachusetts to elevate and amplify youth voices and resources during the summer and beyond! Programming is family and youth friendly and aimed at uplifting community voices and resources around the state!

Cofounders include Translate Gender and Medfield Public Library.

Collaborators include High Five Books, All She Wrote Books, Out MetroWest, BAGLY, South Yarmouth Library, Forbes Library, Norwell Library, Ayer Library, Joshua Hyde Public Library, Medway Library, and Wilmington Public Library. Other collaborators forthcoming.
