We're getting ready to kick off a whole new chapter of fun and learning in the Marlborough Public Library Children's Room! Ms. Jennie and Ms. Kerry look forward to welcoming you back, along with our great new Children's staff: Mel, Ms. Lia and Mr. Michael!
We're starting strong with a slate of opening week events and programs. Keep checking back on our new calendar of events, as we will be adding even more new and returning programs, such as PJ Storytime, Together Time, Preschool Storytime & Craft, Sensory Storytime, LEGO Club, Painting Club, Fiber Arts and Crafts, Crafty Club, STEM Beginnings, book clubs for both beginner and intermediate readers, and of course, lots of special seasonal and holiday events throughout the year! We can't wait to see you again!
Monday, 10/2: Opening Day
Day-long Drop-In Activities, starting at 11am (all ages)
Stop by anytime throughout the day, and decorate a library book bag & bookmark, do a library scavenger hunt, and explore your beautiful new Children's Room! (activities available while supplies last)
Introducing Explorer's Club, 4pm-5pm (ages 3 - 5): Finding Your Way Around Maps!
Come and learn about the world, and your place in it. This program incorporates read-alouds, crafts, STEM activities and more. Explorer's Club is perfect for preschoolers. This week is all about maps!
The Return of Read to a Dog!, 6pm-7pm (early readers)
Practice reading to our friend, Dublin. He's a great listener. This program is intended for early readers and their caregivers, but children of all ages are welcome!
Wednesday, 10/4:
The Return of Storybook Art Club, 10am-11am (ages 3-6)
Bring your favorite storybooks to life! We will read together, and then do a fun art project inspired by the story or its characters.
Thursday, 10/5:
The Return of Kiddie Time Song & Dance with Joe & Stephanie, 10am-11am
Joe & Stephanie, of of Monument Square Music, are back and ready to visit us on the first Thursday of every month for music, songs and dancing. Perfect for babies, toddlers and preschoolers alike! Be sure to wear your dancing shoes!
Saturday, 10/7: Grand Reopening Day Events!
Grand Reopening Party, starting at 11am (all ages)
Celebrate the grand reopening of the Children's Room with live music by Rockabye beats at 11am, followed by an afternoon of face painting, yummy treats, and a visit from Dublin. Then, wrap it all up with a fun afternoon Star Wars Storytime at 2pm.
