Fall Into The Library!
School is in Session.  Leaves are Changing.  Cooler Weather has Arrived.  It can only mean one thing...It is Officially Fall and We at the Library are Ready to Welcome it and All of You to Enjoy the Season with Us as We Read some Great Ghostly Books, Hear About all of the Spooky Things to Learn about and Explore from a few Special Guest Speakers, and Try our Hands at new Festive Crafts!

Youth Service Programs

Ms. Steph has a few special events happening in October that we think you will enjoy!  For the Tweens/Teens, we have Craft Club featuring painting Mini monster pumpkins and the next meeting of our new Book Club!  For families and children of all ages, there will be a Book Character Pumpkin decorating contest!  Ms. Steph is continuing her Pajama Storytime and Friday StoryTime weekly events.  And Anime Club and Drop In Games are back for the Fall season.  She is looking forward to seeing everyone in the Library!

Fall Feature Events
So many things to try out this Fall!  Kicking off the Month, we will be offering a hybrid Presentation on Spooky World with its creator David Bertolino on Saturday, October 7 at 1pm.  This event is open to Teens and Adults and is a Zoom talk, but we will also be showing it in the Library with some snacks and beverages to enjoy.  We are excited to have a 4 part series led by Phyllis Donahue titled, "Tell Your Story:  A Creative Writing Experience".   There are two sessions in October (10/14 & 10/21) and 2 more in November (11/4 &11/18).  Space is limited so register soon!  There are 3 craft programs currently scheduled and a few to be added so visit our website to register and to check out the new additions!  Lastly, we will be having our 2 monthly book clubs and the return of our Tea of the Month and Spice of the Month Kits! 

Family Fun

Fall Festivities
We have a few Fun Family Festivities happening in October that we are excited to announce! 

Our First Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest will run from October 10-October 24 with winners being announced on October 31.  Open to all ages!  Details are on the website!

On October 14th, Catherine will be hosting a Partial Annular Eclipse Viewing party on the Library Lawn!  This is a great time to prepare for the Eclipse next Spring that will be closer to a full eclipse.

On Saturday, October 7 at 1pm, we are celebrating the Freedom to Read with a " Drop In and Read Hour" on the Library Lawn

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Holbrook Library 

Elections were recently held and the bylaws were updated.  Welcome to all of the newly elected Board members!

The Spring Bulb plant sale is ending on October 15!  Place your  orders now to guarantee delivery.  As always, all monies raised will go to helping the Friends support programming and events at the Library.  

There are still tote bags available for purchase!  These great bags are only $10 and you can choose a free selection from the Book Alley or Book Alley Annex when you purchase a tote!
