Hello friends & fans of the Gaylord Memorial Library,

We have lots of fun programs this month for all ages! Kids can enjoy several Halloween-themed versions of our usual events, and adults can look forward to poetry and photography, socializing and crafting, and the return of spice club!

Be sure to scroll through the list of special events as well as our on-going favorites below. We hope to see you at the library soon!

Friends Of The Gaylord Library

Join us on Friday October 13 from 5:30-7pm to support the Friends of the Gaylord Library and mingle in the historic library rotunda! Everyone over the age of 21 is cordially invited; entry fee is $10. This month we will be collecting school supply donations and donating the raffle proceeds to Operation Backpack. Support the organization by buying raffle tickets, or bring donations.

Fall Spruce-Up!

Saturday, October 14th, 9-11am
Join Gaylord Friends and volunteers to spruce up the grounds of the Gaylord. Bring gardening gloves and any tools you might have, and spend a lovely fall morning making the Gaylord grounds a little prettier. Snacks will be provided. (We will also have some extra garden tools to share.)

Did you know that we run the home delivery service for the town of South Hadley?

Delivery is available to South Hadley residents who have health or transportation issues that keep them from the library on a temporary or on-going basis. Any item that can be checked out from the Gaylord Memorial Library or South Hadley Public Library can be delivered.

Find out more or sign up to receive library items on our website!

The Perkins Library for the Blind offers a Talking Book service for readers throughout Massachusetts who have visual or physical difficulties interacting with print books. We have a sample Talking Book at Gaylord available for patrons to try out if they are interested in signing up for the Perkins service but want to see how it works. Home Delivery patrons may borrow the Talking Book on a one week loan.

For more information about applying for the service, go to https://www.perkins.org/library/apply/

Some weeks we'll have a theme like mending, finishing projects, or getting started on new ones. But all projects are welcome in all weeks. The theme is just to get us thinking.
