From the Director:

Dear Library Friends and Followers,

It's Spring! It's freezing! Yay?
No matter what the weather does, we at the Library have you covered for entertainment, exercise, education, and general enjoyment.

First, some building and event updates:
Starting next week (give or take a few days), we'll be replacing the ramp that provides accessible entry to the front of the Library building. The contractor estimates that the work will take no more than a few weeks, but we want to make sure that everyone can safely access the Library while work is underway--if you need us to bring materials out to you, or to schedule pickups or deliveries, please call! Other Library operations should not see significant interruption while we perform this essential upgrade, but things may look a bit messier out front for a while. Bear with us.

Second, we're in full preparation for the Friends of the Library's Spring Book Sale! Thank you to all who have donated materials in good condition to the sale, which raises funds for special programs and initiatives. We are still accepting donations of gently used books, CDs, and DVDs through this Saturday, May 6th. Please be aware that we cannot accept textbooks or outdated non-fiction. Any questions about your donation? Call us! Want to help with the sale? Call us! Want to come to the sale and buy up all the books? YAY! See you on May 20th at 9am-1pm.

Lastly, are you aware of our popular 'Office Hours' series? From local politicians to social workers to local businesses, those seeking a place to meet and greet their constituents are finding that spot at the Library. This May, stop by our alcoves for some face time with the Sierra Vista Commons project representatives, City Social Worker Liz Plouffe, and Angelique Baker from the Easthampton Commission on Disabilities.

Some additional May highlights include:

Technology Helpevery other Wednesday between 2:30 and 5:30pm.

Yoga with Brian Mulligan. Brian graciously volunteered his time pre-pandemic, and is eager to get back to yoga in person at the Library. This time, he’ll be doing yoga weekly on Monday evenings, except for the fourth Monday of each month.

Rock Your LinkedIn Profile, The Return with Alyssa Pratt. This popular program returns on May 8, from 5-6pm.

Easthampton Council on Aging Book Club meets on May 18 from 2pm-3:30pm at the Council on Aging.

The Youth Services calendar is also full, and we're in full planning mode for a great Summer Reading season.

For our full lineup of May activities, check out our Calendar. We'll see you soon at the Library!
