Dear Library Friends and Followers,

Wow! Things. Are. Happening.

Thanks to your support and your advocacy, and the hard work of Library Board Members, City officials, and many others, the City of Easthampton has voted to award the Library an impressive $510,000 in Cannabis Stabilization Funds to address our operational shortfall. We are grateful and excited to put this funding to use supporting and expanding core services, improving our collection and equipment, and planning for a sustainable future of serving the people of this City. In fact, we're even changing our name to reflect our mission and honor this new phase of our municipal relationship. When you call us, you can call us the Easthampton Public Library!

Many of you have asked if this funding will allow us to move immediately into the proposed new Library site at 52 Main Street. The short answer is: not yet. While the offer of the building is an incredible opportunity, we're not ready to move tomorrow. Planning, fundraising, and renovation will be a long term process, one that will hopefully culminate in the modern, full-service, 21st-century library program that Easthampton deserves. We hope that you all will continue to be a part of our efforts to make this dream a reality.
