Genealogy Course

Wednesdays, April 5th - May 10th at 6pm - This program is full
Starting Wednesday, April 5th at 6:00 p.m. join us for a six-week genealogy course; sessions end on May 10th. This program is led by members of the Cape Cod Genealogical Society. Participants will discover how to research family history and learn special techniques for finding family roots. Explore topics such as Immigration and Migration, Uses of the Census, DNA in Genealogy, Land Deed and Probate Research, and Case Studies in Breaking through the Genealogical Brick Wall.

VNA Fitness Programs

VNA of Cape Cod Public Health and Wellness

Mindful Movement with the VNA. Wednesdays, May 17-June 21 at 12:30. 

Decompress through movements, stretching, and breathing exercises that improve your fitness, while calming the mind. Presented by the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod. Please call their office to register: 508-957-7423.

Transportation for Dennis residents can be arranged through the Dennis Center for Active Living. Please call them at 508-385-5067.

This event is made possible through the cooperation of the Town of Dennis Health Department, the Dennis Council on Aging, and the Dennis Public Library.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

Thursdays and Fridays

The library is holding informal sessions to learn conversational English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL):

Thursdays, at 6:00 p.m., Starting on May 4th 

Fridays, at 12:30 p.m., Starting on May 5th 

All are welcome. Bring friends and family!

May Art Display

Jessica Coen is a homeschooling mother of three. She created Happy Hoops as a way to handle the stress of daily life. Through this form of art she has found a simple way of relaxing and creative therapy.

Her art can be found on Facebok under Happy Hoops. Please inquire on Facebook for purchases.

Jessee's art will be on display in our display cabinet throughout the month of May.

Call for Artists for 2023

The Dennis Public Library wants to show you off!
The Dennis Public Library is seeking new artists to display their “two-dimensional” work in the library’s busy meeting room. The library also has a largedisplay case in the main lobby suitable for showcasing three-dimensional work.These spaces are available together or separately. Show periods run for one calendar month and artists are welcome to hold an opening. If you are, or know of, an artist who has not shown at the library since our post-Covid reopening, please consider displaying at the library.
The library is located at 5 Hall Street in Dennis Port.

This month the Mystery Book Club is reading Slow Horses by Mick Herron. This meeting is hybrid, online options are available. Please email jsullivan@clamsnet.org if you are interested in attending.

Wednesday, May 17th at 2:00pm - DPL Book Club 

This month the DPL Book Club is reading Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. This group meeting is in person at the library, but a Zoom option is available. Please email mkornfeind@clamsnet.org if you are interested in participating.

Join Lisa, our Children's Librarian, each Thursday for play time, fun stories, songs and a craft. All ages are welcome. No registration is required. Come and join the fun!

Cape Cod Children's Place

Story & Project with Jill Silva

We are happy to welcome CCCP this spring for another great program.

Jill will be facilitating Story & Project on Thursdays, before Lisa's Storytime, 4/13 - 6/22 (skip 4/20) from 10-11am. 

Each week we will enjoy an open ended project and story designed to spark creativity, logic and scientific curiosity.

Ages 2-5  All materials are included. Pre-registration is required.

Stem Cart Tuesdays
Starting Tuesday May 16th
Come and check out our new stem cart from Lakeshore Learning. We will wheel it out every Tuesday from 12-8 for play
Our mobile stem cart comes jam-packed with 11 awesome STEM kits—all specially designed! From engineering roller coasters and experimenting with magnets to setting off giant chain reactions, children can explore tons of different STEM concepts—right at our station.
